Responsibilities 

  • Be a key contributor to BK’s award-winning reputation for exceptional client service and team engagement.
  • Manage and design building or industrial structure projects, either independently or as part of a collaborative team (based on experience).
  • Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analysis, and construction cost estimates.
  • Provide construction-related services, including shop drawing reviews, responses to RFIs, periodic site observations, and occasional specialized structural inspections.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors, facility managers, and owners throughout the design and construction process.
  • Mentor and support the development of younger engineers, sharing your knowledge and expertise.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Licensing: PE or SE registration required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 years of professional experience (seasoned professionals are encouraged to apply!).
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Familiarity with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, TMS, and NDS codes.
    • Proficiency in Revit, RAM, and/or RISA is a plus.
    • Experience with multiple construction types, including steel, concrete, masonry, and mass timber, is highly desirable.
    • Experience in production of construction documents (drawings and specifications).
  • Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bonus: Background in construction is a plus!
